The main ethic we have as a company is helping one another and working together as a team. Our team of in house tradesmen consists of fully qualified painters and decorators and apprentices. We have approximately 30 fully qualified and quality assessed sub-contract painters and decorators on our books, always on hand to ensure large contract requirements are met.
Keith Connolly • Managing Director
Keith has been in the Painting & Decorating industry since his early twenties in 1994, following in his Father's footsteps. He is responsible for the overall running of the business, including day to day operations both on site and in the office. He is the liaison for the majority of our customers, and maintains business relationships. Keith is known for never being tied down to one role, from time to time he will join our Project Managers and Painters & Decorators on site and give the project that final push towards a great finish. He is passionate about growing his business, and helping his team flourish. Keith has trained many members of our team from apprentice level, to the trusted and accomplished painters they are today.
John Hooson • Health & Safety Manager
John is responsible for all aspects of Health and Safety throughout the business. He is responsible for the implementation of Health & Safety policies and procedures, including environmental and operational procedures. He is involved in the organisation of training, and is in charge of issuing on-site Safety Toolbox Talks before projects commence. John is accredited with a NEBOSH certification in Health and Safety Management. This ensures he is qualified to carry out his role as Health & Safety Manager to the best of his ability. He is also one of our Project Managers on site and will liaise with the Office Team and Clients to provide an excellent finish on site, while also maintaining site safety standards.
Colleen McGarvey • Commercial Manager
Colleen is responsible for all the day to day functions of the office and deals with project matters. She will recognise new business opportunities and puts together tenders and quotations by either measuring from drawings or attending site visits. The financial management of projects is a key role in the overall financial success and growth of the business and she succeeds this by looking at risk management and procurement to ascertain certain decisions. Colleen has brought a wealth of commercial awareness and experience having a financial and procurement background she has fully reviewed our cost base that offers both a fair price to the customer and a fair profit to the business.
Laura McGarvey • Senior Administrator
Laura assumes the roles of Senior Administrator and Head of Finance. She provides both clerical and administrative support to the DDS team, and handles day to day office operations. Laura is responsible for Staff Training, Social Media & Website Maintenance, Travel & Accommodation, Project Organisation and Office Maintenance. She is also involved with Health & Safety alongside the Health and Safety Manager John Hooson.
Kevin Newport • Operations Director
Kevin directs and coordinates the internal structure of an organisation based on company policies, goals, and objectives to ensure an efficient working environment and that deadlines are met consistently. His main focus is creating and maintaining new business relationships. Kevin handles the development of projects throughout, from pricing a project to checking the quality of the work on handover. He is also involved in programming, vehicle maintenance and recruitment.
The Project Leaders are responsible for a project they have been assigned to. They will ensure from day 1 to completion the project has sufficient labour to carry out the work and keep to the programme as well as ensure sufficient materials are on site. They will discuss any variations to the specification and agree these with the client quickly to ensure there are no delays to the Project.
