Distinctive Design Services began refurbishing Pizza Express restaurants in May 2015, and works are currently ongoing. As part of the June 2015 phase of Pizza Express projects, we were requested to carry out a bright and modern re-invention of the Pizza Express restaurant in Newmarket. This 18th-century former coaching inn benefited from our complete renovation package, in keeping with the client’s vision for an attractive restaurant that would appeal to local customers.
Our work included full restoration of the exterior paintwork, with particular care being given to reviving original features such as beams and wrought ironwork in order to recapture the unique charm and brilliance of its original condition. Inside, fresh cream walls, a mixture of low-level lighting and spotlights, banquette seating and polished hardwood floors were installed to offer a cosy, sociable and functional space, congenial for dining and maintenance.
The kitchen was refitted with contemporary stainless steel appliances, wooden storage areas and crescent counters to further complement the restaurant’s signature blend of traditional and modern styles. The al fresco patio area was revitalised with stylish citrus-coloured furniture, enhanced by classic black umbrellas.
As accredited contractors, we are renowned for our high-quality workmanship and professionalism. This project required nothing less than the usual diligence of our skilled operatives in adhering to all necessary industry standards and legislation. As a result, the restaurant was completed within the agreed time-scale and was met with high praise from the client, who expressed enthusiasm for working with us again in future on other projects.
